Sundance Film Festival

At the House of Luxury event, I visited the Porsche Design showcase. I met some amazing people, from Porsche Design Salt Lake City, including store manager Charlie Huebner and Chelsea Corrigan, Porsche Design associate. Both Charlie and Chelsea were a pleasure to engage with about the high quality, innovative products Porsche Design offers. I also met Kyle Demontmorency, Porsche Design model. (pictured far left) At the House of Luxury event, Porsche Design's first handbag premiered known as the "TwinBag". This bag features adjustable handles and will hit stores in March. Entourage heartthrob, Adrian Greiner takes a break from the slopes to attend the Claim Jumper event at the Sundance Film Festival sponsored by Milk, MySpace, and Burton on Friday, January 18th. Photo by Gene Chang

Veronica Welch, fashionista and president of Bubblefish Media and Co-founder/Owner of Style Fashion Week hosted an evening event at the Claim Jumper on January 20th at the Sundance Film Festival. Welch says she "runs 30 to 40 different shows at LA Fashion Week". Welch defines her personal fashion as "believing in what you wear, owning what you wear, and feeling comfortable in what you are wearing". Two fashion lines represented at Bubblefish Media's Sundance events included Ash Haute Couture and Qyuhn Paris. Ash Haute Couture based in Mumbai exudes elegance and artistic appeal. Qyuhn Paris boasts one-of-a kind draped ensambles in the most magnificent, vibrant colors. At Welch's event, world class musicans performed, including Matt Sorum formerly of Guns N Roses along with Mark McGrath (formerly of Sugar Ray), in their new band "Camp Freddy".

On January 22, I ran into Golnesa Gharachedaghi, better known as "GG", the beautiful Persian from Shah's of Sunset on the Bravo Network. The show is back in full swing after a successful first season. While attending the MTV party hosted by Nikki Beach at the Sundance film festival, I ran into GG. Gharachedagi has a new extension line. A hair afficionado herself, GG seems passionate about anything related to beauty so it was only natural for her to create an extension line based on practicality and affordablilty at under $100! GG's extensions can be found at http://www.ggsextensions.com/. Photo by Gene Chang.

On January 23rd, Anthony Tivnan and Joshua Hebert of Magellan Jets talked about the usual Sundance topics like films and weather but then  I found out more about Magellan Jets. This Massachusett's based private flight service has a superb reputation and has been featured in Forbes, on MSNBC, Travel Weekly, and even the Robb Report. Flight destinations offered by Megellan include New York, LA, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Chicago, Boston, Dallas, San Francisco, Houston, Orlando, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Philadelphia, Phoenix, and Park City. Magellan even offers one way flights. Ok, let's go ahead and book for next year SUNDANCE 2014! Who's with me?

Atlanta born rapper, entrepreneur, and DJ, Lil Jon attended the Claim Jumper event at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday, January 18th with an ever so interesting onlooker. Lil Jon even spinned tracks at the ultra posh Hyde nightclub during his visit to Sundance Film Festival and was later spotted at an MTV News event at Nikki Beach. Photo by Gene Chang

Mario Lopez Sundance 2013
On January 23, actress, Holly Fields and I hung out at the House of Luxury event not to mention at an array of other Sundance Film Festival events all week. Holly is a genuine and kind-hearted person, whom now I can call a friend. A Californian native, Holly's career started at the tender age of 6. Some of the work Holly is known for includes The O.C., Charmed, Married with Children, MacGyver, and Blossom. Projects in 2013 include Enchanted Amore: A Very Unusual Love Story and The Ones. During the Sundance Film Festival, Holly was a popular guest at the Fender gifting suite, which is notorious for attracting top name celebs.
At the Creative Coalition Gala honoring Sharon Stone, I interviewed Mariel Hemmingway, granddaughter to the late Ernest Hemingway. Mariel graced the cover of Vogue in the early eighties and is especially known for her work in Manhattan, Civil Wars, Star 80 among many other industry projects. Hemingway was at Sundance promoting her new documentary Running From Crazy directed by New York based Barbara Kopple. Mariel spent a great deal of her upbringing in Ketchum, Idaho which is right outside of Sun Valley, Idaho. Hemingway and I both have ties in Idaho so were able to connect on skiing at the Sun Valley Ski Resort not to mention the pristine and serene beauty of Sun Valley, Idaho. Photo by Gene Chang

At the Creative Coalition gala, honoring Sharon Stone, I met up with Jenna Lynn pictured left with Jane Lynch of Glee. Born in Seattle, Jenna pursued training in music and theater as a child and moved to LA to pursue film production. Jenna has also been a photographer for WireImage, one of the most prinicipal media outlets in the world. Currently Jenna is in event production, promotions, and public relations and works with Ember Live Media. Currently, Jenna is gearing up for Oscar events. Photo By Gene Chang

According to Film.com, Koffehouse is one of the most highly regarded, private events at the Sundance Film Festival. At the Koffeehouse event, I had the pleasure of meeting Jen Abrams. From personal stylist to brand consultant, Jen does it all. Abrams has worked with high profile clientele including the Kardashians and Issac Mizrahi. Some of the product lines that were featured at the event included my personal favorite, Dirty Girl Gardening, which makes a refreshing organic water refresher in both evening aphrodisiac and lavender scent. This product is ideal for light moisture on the face and is an essential beauty product for jet setters that suffer moisture loss at high altitiudes. Dirty girl gardening also makes a luxurious body scrub in various scents including vanilla. These must have products can be found at www.dirtygirlgarden.com. Yet another brand Jen consults for is Meredith Marks jewelry, which has been featured in Oprah's magazine. The line has an array of pieces ranging from diamonds to citrine. For more information on where to find the line inquire at info@meredithmarks.com. Another jeweler featured at Jen Abrams style lounge was Marlyn Schiff which features jewelry at stores in Napa, California, Washington, D.C., Jacksonville, Florida, among many other locations. The popular jewelry line has been featured in OK! Magazine, Redbook, and US Weekly and among many other news media outlets. Cures by Avance was also another featured product line for which Jen Abrams consults. Cures by Avance carries gentle cleansing milk, firming body therapy lotion, algae loofah bars, along with an assortment of other high grade, quality products. Cures by Avance is used in spas across the country from New York to Beverly Hills. Check out www.curesbyavance.com for a spa near you that houses Cures by Avance quality products. Paris Hilton attended the Miami Lounge gifting suites at the Sundance Film Festival looking fresh and vibrant as always. Currently, Paris is working on the release of a music album. Lately, the socialite has been hanging around celebs in the music industry. She attended the Miami Lounge gifting suite with her pal Avicii (wearing the Pittsburgh Pirates hat), who happens to be up for a Grammy nomination this year, along with Skrillex, Calvin Harris, and Swedish House Mafia. Paris had been in Aspen before arriving for the Sundance Film Festival. (Pictured above Gene Chang, entertainment attorney/media director)

I will always have a soft spot for Paul Mitchell, I mean he singlehandedly created the Tea Tree line of shampoos and conditioners. What's not to like? During the Sundance Film Festival, Gene Chang (entertainment attorney/media director) and myself attended the Miami Lounge gifting suite where we received a one-on-one mixology lesson from Patron partner, Paul Mitchell. It was a fun-filled experience using the steel muddlers with Paul Mitchell to create drinks with fresh fruit. The Patron station in the Miami Lounge gifting suite even had an area to engrave the steel Patron muddlers. It was nice to see Mitchell enjoying himself and promoting his global brand that all started with a mere $700.

Canadian actor, Michael Cera was all smiles as he was spotted outside Park City's famed Italian restaurant Cisero's. Cera is known for his work in many recent motion pictures including 2007 releases Juno and Superbad. At The Sundance Film Festival, Cera is promoting his new film Magic Magic. I caught up with Magic Magic executive producer, Todd Remis, at entertainment attorney Jonathan Gray's event. Remis said "I'm excited to be here at the Sundance Film Festival to attend the premiere of Magic Magic and to consider options for other projects with which to get involved." The film Magic Magic was filmed in Chile by grand jury prize winning writer and director, Sebastian Silva, who has led other recent projects such as The Maid and Crystal Fairy. Photo by Gene Chang

On January 23, House of Luxury along with Resorts West of Park City created thee picturesque high society party which to be seen at. High profile guests included Mariel Hemingway granddaughter to the late Ernest Hemingway and famous director Barbara Kopple.  The residence that featured the House of Luxury event was part of the Resorts West Real Estate Group and valued at an astonishing $21.9 million dollars. Jeff Spencer, Principal Broker of Resorts West stated "House of Luxury is the finest Deer Valley masterpiece with ideal ski acess and the most magnificent views." Some of the lucrative sponsors that attended the event included Rolls Royce which offered potential clients test drives in the Ghost automobiles, valued around $300,000. Famed artist, Domingo Zapata featured contemporary pieces of Mona Lisa. Hasselblad Cameras of Sweden showcased cameras with gold and mohogany options some of which run $6,000. After speaking with the president of Hasselblad cameras, Michael Hajtmanek, I learned that the Hasselblad cameras played an intergral part in capturing images during space exploration in the early 1960's. After visiting the Hasselblad display, I made my way over to the wine cellar in the estate to inquire about the wines being featured at the event. After speaking with Shailah Salmon, Marketing Manager that represents La Jota Vineyard Co. at Howell Moutain Estate, I learned that Ve`rite` presented three wines including La Muse-Inspiration, La Joie-Joy, and Le Desi`r-Desire. Shilah Salmon stated that "All three wines have recieived 100 points from world renouned wine critic, Robert Parker and run on average $450 per bottle".

  19. I love Hemingway!

"Always do sober what you said you'd do drunk. That will teach you to keep your mouth shut."

After visiting his compound in Key West I had a much deeper appreciation for his works. You are very luck to have talked to a living relative of the blood line.
